Chronic care membership in Dubai
Long-term conditions are managed in the gaps between appointments. Whether type 2 diabetes, hypertension, raised cholesterol or thyroid disease is well controlled depends less on any single consultation than on whether someone is watching the trend.
Why per-visit pricing works against chronic care
When each consultation and each test is a separate cost decision, reviews get postponed and monitoring bloods get stretched out. The clinical consequence is that changes are noticed later than they should be.
Membership removes that decision. Reviews and clinically justified monitoring tests are covered by the annual fee, so the schedule is set by clinical need.
What ongoing monitoring looks like
For type 2 diabetes that usually means HbA1c at agreed intervals, kidney function, lipids, blood pressure and an annual review of complications risk. For hypertension it means blood pressure readings, kidney function and medication review.
Your named GP decides the interval with you, based on how well controlled things are — not on a fixed package schedule.
Medication review
Long-standing prescriptions accumulate. Membership includes reviewing whether each medicine is still appropriate, whether doses still fit your results, and arranging the monitoring tests certain medicines require.
Prescriptions are issued in line with UAE regulations. Membership does not cover the cost of medicines themselves.

Questions people ask
Does Platinum help with long-term conditions?
Yes. Conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and thyroid disease need regular review and repeat testing. Platinum covers those reviews and clinically justified monitoring bloods with one doctor tracking the trend rather than isolated snapshots.
Can my Dubai GP manage my medication reviews?
Yes. Your named GP reviews your regular medicines, checks whether they are still appropriate and arranges the monitoring tests those medicines require. Prescriptions are issued in line with UAE regulations, and controlled medicines follow the applicable rules.
