Physiotherapy in Dubai, prescribed by a doctor
Why a GP sits in front of the physiotherapist
Most physiotherapy in Dubai starts with the therapist. Ours starts with a doctor, because a proportion of back pain, shoulder pain and post-surgical stiffness needs imaging, medication or a surgical opinion before hands-on treatment is safe or useful.
A British-trained GP takes the history, screens for red flags and decides whether you need imaging, medication or a referral before any hands-on treatment starts.
Your physiotherapist arrives with a clinical brief — diagnosis, precautions, loading limits — rather than working out the plan from scratch on the day.
Home sessions anywhere in Dubai, or in-clinic at Unit G09, Churchill Executive Towers in Business Bay if you prefer equipment and space.
Progress is reported back to the medical team. If four to six sessions have not moved the problem, the plan changes or the diagnosis is revisited.
Choose the pathway that fits
Nine rehabilitation pathways, each with its own assessment, timeline and discharge criteria. If you are not sure which applies, start with a GP call and we will place you.
Rehabilitation by condition
The conditions Dubai patients ask us about most, each with its own treatment protocol and realistic recovery timeline — and area-by-area availability underneath.
Physiotherapy in Dubai — FAQs
How much does physiotherapy cost in Dubai?
Home physiotherapy sessions with Aafiyah Care Clinic start from AED 420, with six and twelve-session programmes priced per course. A GP assessment before rehabilitation starts is charged separately and is optional for straightforward musculoskeletal cases.
Do I need a doctor's referral for physiotherapy in Dubai?
No — you can book directly. For post-surgical, neurological or persistent pain cases we strongly recommend a short GP consultation first so your physiotherapist works from a formal clinical prescription based on your imaging and history.
Is home physiotherapy as effective as going to a clinic?
For most back, neck, joint and post-operative cases, home physiotherapy is at least as effective. The therapist sees your actual bed, stairs, desk and bathroom, treatment can start days after surgery, and nobody misses sessions because of Dubai traffic.
How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?
Most patients notice meaningful change within four to six sessions. Post-surgical and neurological rehabilitation usually runs a twelve-session programme with a mid-point review, because those recoveries follow tissue-healing timelines rather than symptom relief.
Which areas of Dubai do your physiotherapists cover?
Every residential area we serve, from Business Bay, Downtown and DIFC to Dubai Marina, JVC, Arabian Ranches, Mirdif and Dubai Hills. Our clinic base in Business Bay keeps central Dubai travel times short.
Can physiotherapy be claimed on my insurance?
We are not insurance-based, so there is no direct billing. You pay at the session and we issue a fully coded invoice with the clinical documentation your insurer needs to assess a reimbursement claim.
Do you treat sports injuries and gym injuries?
Yes. Padel, running, football, CrossFit and gym injuries are among the most common cases we see in Dubai. Return to sport is decided on strength and control testing, not on how long ago the injury happened.
Can a physiotherapist come the same day?
Usually yes for acute pain, subject to therapist availability in your area. Message us on WhatsApp with your location and the problem and we will confirm the earliest realistic slot rather than an optimistic one.

"Post-ACL physiotherapy at home in Dubai Marina. The GP-prescribed rehab plan was miles ahead of what I got in clinic — same physio each visit, real progress reviews, back to squash in 14 weeks."
"My mother's post-hip-replacement physio in Jumeirah. Their British GP wrote the whole rehab plan around her surgeon's notes and the physiotherapist followed it to the letter. She's walking unaided already."
