Ears
Ear pain, hearing loss, blocked ears and ringing in the ears are common in adults and children. Most cases are quickly assessed in primary care.
A focused ear, nose and throat examination — including otoscopy — usually clarifies the diagnosis. Recurrent or unusual patterns are referred to ENT.

FAQs
How do you treat blocked ears?+
Treatment depends on the cause — wax, eustachian tube dysfunction after a cold, infection or fluid behind the eardrum all need different approaches. Otoscopy is the first step.
