Vaccinations in Dubai — common questions
Can I get a flu vaccine at home in Dubai?+
Yes — a DHA-licensed nurse can administer the annual flu vaccine at your home, hotel or office across Dubai, with same-day availability during flu season (October to March).
How much do travel vaccinations cost in Dubai?+
Travel vaccinations in Dubai typically cost AED 200–600 per dose plus a AED 250–500 travel consultation. Hepatitis A from AED 250, typhoid from AED 200, yellow fever from AED 450, rabies from AED 350 per dose.
Do I need a yellow fever vaccine for the UAE?+
Yellow fever is required only if you are arriving from or transiting through a yellow-fever-endemic country. The vaccine must be given at a WHO-approved centre and a stamped yellow card issued at least 10 days before travel.
Are childhood vaccines free in Dubai?+
At DHA primary health centres for UAE residents, the standard childhood schedule is provided free or at minimal cost. Private clinics charge per visit (typically AED 200–500 visit fee plus AED 100–500 per vaccine).
How long before travel should I book vaccinations?+
Ideally 4–6 weeks before travel — some vaccines need multiple doses spaced weeks apart, and immunity takes 10–14 days to develop. Last-minute travel is still worth covering with single-dose options.
