Pelvic symptoms are treatable, not permanent.
Bladder leakage, prolapse symptoms, postnatal recovery, pelvic pain and recurrent UTIs — assessed properly by a British-trained female GP, with pelvic floor rehabilitation and specialist referral where it helps.
Six concerns women put up with for years.
Bladder leakage (stress and urge)
Leaking with a cough, sneeze or run points to stress incontinence; a sudden urgent need with little warning points to overactive bladder. They respond to different treatment, so the history and a bladder diary come before anything else. Urine dip and culture rule out infection first.
Prolapse symptoms
Heaviness, dragging or a bulge sensation, often worse by evening or after exercise. Assessment covers symptom severity, bowel and bladder impact, hormonal status and lifting patterns, with examination in clinic and gynaecology referral where the stage warrants it.
Postnatal recovery
The six-week check is a start, not a finish. We review perineal or caesarean healing, leakage, diastasis recti, back and pelvic girdle pain, mood, thyroid, iron and vitamin D — postpartum thyroiditis and iron deficiency are routinely mistaken for ordinary exhaustion.
Pelvic and period pain
Pain that stops you working, pain with sex or pain that has escalated over years deserves a proper work-up: infection screen, hormone bloods, inflammatory markers and referral for specialist pelvic ultrasound where endometriosis or fibroids are suspected.
Recurrent UTIs
Three or more infections a year is a pattern, not bad luck. We culture before treating, review post-menopausal vaginal atrophy, hydration, contraception and bowel habit, and agree a prevention plan rather than repeating antibiotics indefinitely.
Genitourinary symptoms of menopause
Dryness, discomfort with sex, urinary frequency and repeat infections after menopause usually reflect low local oestrogen. Vaginal oestrogen is safe for most women, including many who cannot take systemic HRT, and is discussed openly.
History first, referral last.
History with a female GP
Twenty to thirty minutes on what actually happens and when — leakage triggers, bowel habit, births, lifting, exercise, hormonal status and how much it limits you.
Rule out the treatable basics
Urine dip and culture, swabs where indicated, ferritin, glucose and hormone bloods. Infection, constipation, iron deficiency and low oestrogen are common, reversible contributors.
Examination in clinic
A gentle examination at our Business Bay clinic with a female GP and chaperone, covering prolapse assessment and pelvic floor tone where relevant. You can decline any part.
Pelvic floor rehabilitation
Referral to pelvic floor physiotherapy with a specific brief — the exercises that work are supervised and progressive, not a leaflet. Most stress incontinence improves substantially within three months.
Escalation only when it is needed
Gynaecology, urogynaecology or imaging arranged with a vetted Dubai partner, with your GP reviewing the report and keeping the plan in one place.

Leakage, prolapse and what actually helps.
What is pelvic health care and do I need a gynaecologist for it?+
Pelvic health covers bladder control, prolapse symptoms, postnatal recovery, pelvic pain and recurrent urinary infections. A GP is the right first stop: most of it is assessed and treated in primary care with pelvic floor physiotherapy, and gynaecology or urogynaecology referral is arranged only where examination or imaging shows it is needed.
Is bladder leakage after childbirth normal?+
It is common — and it is treatable, which is the part women are rarely told. Supervised pelvic floor rehabilitation improves or resolves stress incontinence for the majority of women, including years after birth. Leakage that started after a birth and never settled is worth assessing rather than managing with pads.
How is prolapse assessed in Dubai?+
With a symptom history (heaviness, bulge sensation, bowel and bladder effects), a review of contributing factors such as lifting, constipation and hormonal status, and a gentle examination at our Business Bay clinic with a female GP and chaperone. Mild to moderate prolapse is managed with pelvic floor rehabilitation and, where suitable, vaginal oestrogen; more advanced cases are referred to urogynaecology.
Do you offer pelvic floor physiotherapy?+
Assessment, diagnosis and the treatment plan sit with your GP, and pelvic floor rehabilitation is delivered by pelvic-health physiotherapists we refer to with a specific clinical brief. Your GP reviews progress and adjusts the plan, so you are not left coordinating it yourself.
Can pelvic health be assessed at home?+
The consultation, urine testing and bloods can be done at home anywhere in Dubai by a female nurse and GP, with a AED 250 home visit fee plus tests. Pelvic examination and prolapse assessment are done at the Business Bay clinic, where a chaperone and proper positioning are available.
What does a pelvic health consultation cost?+
A GP consultation with urine testing starts from AED 500. Where a hormonal cause is likely, a consultation with a hormone panel starts from AED 900. Physiotherapy sessions are billed by the treating physiotherapist and quoted before referral.
Why do I keep getting UTIs?+
Recurrent infection usually has a driver: low local oestrogen after menopause, incomplete bladder emptying, constipation, dehydration in Dubai's heat, sexual activity patterns, or a previous infection never fully cleared because it was treated without a culture. We culture first, treat the pattern and set a prevention plan.
Is a female doctor available for pelvic examinations?+
Yes. A British-trained female GP performs the examination and a chaperone is offered as standard. You can stop at any point, and any part of the examination can be declined without affecting the rest of the consultation.
Can menopause cause bladder and pelvic symptoms?+
Yes. Falling oestrogen thins the tissues of the vagina, urethra and bladder base, causing dryness, discomfort, urinary frequency and repeat infections. Local vaginal oestrogen is effective and suitable for most women, including many who cannot or prefer not to take systemic HRT.
Which areas of Dubai do you cover?+
