Where Saxenda still fits
Saxenda's average weight loss (5–8%) is lower than Wegovy (15–17%) or Mounjaro (20–22%). For most patients, weekly injections are simply more effective and more convenient. Saxenda is still worth considering for patients who tolerate liraglutide better, need a shorter drug half-life or want a more granular daily titration.
The dose ladder is 0.6 → 1.2 → 1.8 → 2.4 → 3.0 mg daily, moving up weekly. Because it's daily, side effects can be adjusted week by week rather than waiting seven days for the next injection.
