Can I get a blood test and results the same day in Dubai?+
Yes for most routine panels. Samples drawn before roughly 11am on a working day are usually resulted the same evening, and a GP calls you to explain them. Specialised tests such as some hormone, autoimmune and culture tests take 24–72 hours.
Which tests come back same-day?+
Full blood count, kidney and liver function, glucose, HbA1c, lipid profile, thyroid function, ferritin, CRP and urine analysis are typically same-day. Vitamin D, B12, testosterone and specialised panels usually return within 24 hours.
Do you need a doctor's referral?+
No referral is needed. A GP still reviews which tests are appropriate before the draw, so you are not paying for markers that will not change your plan.
Can a nurse come to my home or office for the sample?+
Yes. A DHA-licensed nurse visits homes, offices and hotels across Dubai. The home visit fee is AED 250 plus the cost of the tests themselves.
Do I need to fast?+
Fast for 8–12 hours (water is fine) for glucose, lipids and most full screens. If you take regular medication, keep taking it unless your doctor has told you otherwise — tell us at booking and we will confirm.
What happens if a result is abnormal?+
Your GP contacts you directly, explains what the result means in the context of your symptoms and history, and arranges treatment, a repeat test or a specialist referral. Urgent findings are called through the same day.
A blood test is not the right route for an emergency. With chest pain, severe breathlessness, heavy bleeding or sudden weakness, call 998 or attend the nearest emergency department.
