Doctor involvement: The nurse refers to an Aafiyah GP when the assessment finds a medical need.

What happens during the assessment?

The nurse spends time with the patient and, with consent, the family. Expect about an hour. Have recent medical letters and a list of medicines ready.

You receive a written plan afterwards, with the recommended care, how it will be reviewed and what would trigger a doctor visit.

Why is an assessment needed before care starts?

Safe care depends on matching the right person to the right task. A caregiver can help with washing and meals; a dressing change or injection needs a nurse. The assessment sets that boundary clearly from day one.

How often is the plan reviewed?

At least monthly for ongoing care, and sooner after a fall, a hospital stay, a new diagnosis or a change in medicines.

Questions families ask

Do I need an assessment if I only want a carer?+

Yes. It protects the patient and the caregiver by setting out exactly what support is safe and what needs a nurse.

Can the assessment happen in a hotel or serviced apartment?+

Yes. We assess wherever care will take place in Dubai.

Can I claim this on insurance?+

We are not an insurance-billing clinic. You pay directly and we issue a fully coded invoice that many international and premium UAE plans reimburse.
