Joint pain

Joint pain can be due to overuse, osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, gout, or infection. A single hot, red, swollen joint needs urgent assessment to exclude septic arthritis. Multiple joint pains with stiffness lasting more than 30 minutes in the morning suggest inflammatory arthritis and need blood tests and rheumatology review.
