When to test
Blood beta-hCG is reliable from around 8–10 days post-conception. Urine hCG is reliable from the first day of a missed period. Testing too early gives false negatives — if in doubt, book the blood test.

Results go to you only. Nothing is sent to an employer or insurer without your consent. Lab results upload to NABIDH under normal DHA rules, viewable only by clinicians you authorise.

How early can a blood pregnancy test detect pregnancy in Dubai?+
A quantitative beta-hCG blood test can detect pregnancy from around 8–10 days after conception — earlier than any urine test. Levels typically double every 48–72 hours in a healthy early pregnancy, and we can repeat the test at 48 hours to confirm viability.
Blood test or urine test — which should I choose?+
Blood beta-hCG is more sensitive, gives a numeric value (useful for dating and viability monitoring), and works 3–4 days earlier than urine. Urine is faster and cheaper but only gives yes/no from around the day of a missed period. For a definitive early answer, we recommend blood.
How much does a pregnancy test cost in Dubai?+
Urine hCG in the Business Bay clinic AED 150. Quantitative beta-hCG blood test AED 220. Nurse home visit adds AED 250. Insurance direct billing is available with Daman, AXA, Bupa, Cigna and Allianz.
Can a nurse come to my home or hotel?+
Yes. A DHA-licensed female nurse attends anywhere in Dubai — Marina, Palm, Downtown, JBR, Jumeirah, Business Bay, Dubai Hills, Al Nahda, hotels included. Sample goes straight to the lab; a GP calls with the result the same day.
Is the result confidential?+
Yes. Results are shared only with you. Nothing is sent to an employer. DHA-licensed labs upload results to the NABIDH health information exchange, which authorised providers you consent to can view.
What happens if the test is positive?+
A senior GP calls you the same day to explain the beta-hCG number, estimate gestation, and arrange a dating scan referral. We can also schedule a follow-up beta-hCG in 48 hours to confirm the pregnancy is progressing normally.
What if the test is negative but my period is late?+
Repeat the beta-hCG in 3–5 days, or book a GP call — a late period with a negative test can point to hormonal imbalance, thyroid issues, PCOS, stress or perimenopause, all of which we can screen for in the same visit.
