What this service involves
Doctor screening before booking
A GP reviews your symptoms, medical history, kidney and cardiac risk and current medications, and declines or adjusts the infusion when it is not clinically appropriate.
Cannulation by a licensed nurse
Sterile insertion by a DHA-licensed nurse experienced in difficult access, with a fresh single-use cannula and full aseptic technique.
Monitored infusion
Vitals before, during and after the infusion, with the nurse present throughout and anaphylaxis management available on site.
Rehydration and symptom relief
Fluids, anti-emetics, analgesia and electrolytes for heat exhaustion, gastroenteritis, migraine and post-viral dehydration, where prescribed.
Nutrient and iron infusions
Vitamin, B12 and iron infusions where bloods support a genuine deficiency — we test rather than assume, and tell you when you do not need one.
Documentation and GP follow-up
Batch numbers, volumes and observations recorded in your Aafiyah record, with the supervising GP reviewing the outcome and arranging repeat bloods if needed.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's approval for an IV drip at home?
Yes. Every infusion at Aafiyah is prescribed by a GP after reviewing your history and medications. If an infusion is not the right treatment, we will say so and offer the alternative rather than sell you a drip.
How long does a home infusion take?
Most infusions run for 30–60 minutes, with the nurse present for the full duration plus a short observation period afterwards. Iron infusions can take longer depending on the preparation used.
Is IV therapy at home safe?
It is safe when it is doctor-screened and nurse-delivered with monitoring and anaphylaxis cover on site. The risk in Dubai's market comes from unscreened drips given without a doctor reviewing your kidney function, cardiac history or medications.
Can you do a vitamin drip without blood tests?
For simple rehydration, yes. For vitamin, iron or B12 replacement we want recent bloods — we can take them at the same visit and infuse once the results support it.
How much does IV therapy at home cost in Dubai?
From AED 550 including the nurse visit, consumables and GP screening. The exact price depends on the prescribed infusion and is quoted in writing before you commit.
What happens if I react to the infusion?
The nurse stays with you throughout, carries anaphylaxis medication, and stops the infusion immediately at the first sign of a reaction. The supervising GP is reachable during the visit and a doctor home visit can be escalated if needed.
