Why Blood Test Trends Matter More Than Single Results

The most useful number in your blood results is the one from last year sitting next to it.

Normal is a range, health is a direction

A fasting glucose climbing from 4.8 to 5.6 over four years never triggers a red flag, yet it describes a metabolic trajectory worth interrupting now rather than after a diabetes diagnosis.

Why scattered testing loses the trend

Tests taken at three different providers in three different years produce three unrelated PDFs. Nobody compares them, because nobody holds them all.

Aafiyah keeps every panel in one record, so each new result is read against your own baseline.

What to track, and how often

For most adults in Dubai: an annual core panel covering metabolic, lipid, liver, kidney, thyroid, iron and vitamin D markers, with tighter intervals where something is being actively managed.

Vitamin D deserves particular attention here — indoor living and year-round air conditioning make deficiency common regardless of the climate outside.

Frequently asked

How often should I have blood tests in Dubai?

Annually for most healthy adults, more often when a marker is being actively monitored or a condition is being treated. Your GP should set the interval, not a subscription plan.

Can you compare results from another clinic?

Yes. Bring or forward previous reports and we will add them to your record so the trend starts from your earliest available result rather than today.

Do home blood tests give the same accuracy?

Yes, when the sample is taken by a licensed nurse and transported correctly to an accredited laboratory — which is how every Aafiyah home draw is handled.
