Telemedicine for DIFC Executives: 12-Minute Consults Between Meetings

If your calendar is back-to-back from 8am to 7pm, a clinic trip means a half-day lost. A 12-minute video consult with a GP between meetings often solves the same problem.

By Amar Adris · Published 25 May 2026 · Updated 6 June 2026

What video consults solve well

Prescription refills, sleep and anxiety review, travel advice, second opinions on a lab result, sick certificates, follow-up of a known condition, contraception, mild URTIs, eczema and acne reviews, men's health questions you'd rather not raise in person.

What video consults don't solve

Anything that needs a physical examination: abdominal pain, chest pain, ear pain in children, suspicious moles, breast lumps, neurological symptoms. For these, we'll convert the call to a home visit or in-clinic appointment same day, with the video fee credited.

How it works

Book online, complete a 2-minute intake. A British-trained GP calls you within 15 minutes (or at a scheduled slot). Prescription sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice or your office tower pharmacy. Sick note emailed within 10 minutes. AED 400 flat.

Why DIFC residents and workers use this

The tower density and traffic into and out of DIFC means a 'quick clinic visit' is rarely quick. A 12-minute video consult between Teams calls is honest healthcare for a high-tempo working life — and most insurers reimburse it.

What works on video — and what doesn't

Works well: prescription renewals, blood test result discussions, mental health consultations, dermatology triage (with good photos), follow-up reviews, travel advice, sick certificates, lifestyle and burnout reviews. Doesn't work well: acute abdominal pain, chest pain, severe shortness of breath, suspected fractures, or anything that needs a physical examination — these need in-person review.

How we structure DIFC executive telemedicine

12–20 minute video slots booked through our calendar or WhatsApp, with longer 45-minute slots for executive health reviews. Same-day prescriptions sent to your preferred pharmacy. Lab orders processed via home phlebotomy. Specialist referrals coordinated through our network. The goal is to handle everything possible without you leaving DIFC — and to escalate efficiently when in-person review is needed.

How DIFC executives actually use it

Repeat prescriptions, lab result reviews, post-travel symptom triage, mental health follow-ups, hormonal review check-ins, and acute symptom triage where the next step might be a home visit or in-clinic appointment. Most consultations resolve in 12–20 minutes. For anything that needs a physical exam, we escalate to a home or clinic visit — usually the same day.

Privacy and confidentiality

Consultations run on encrypted platforms. Records are stored in your file accessible only to your named GP and clinical team. We do not share data directly with insurers without your consent, and we never share with employers — even when corporate plans fund the membership. As a DHA-licensed clinic we are legally required to upload clinical records to NABIDH (the Dubai unified health record); other licensed UAE providers and, in some cases, insurers with lawful NABIDH access may be able to view records there.

How DIFC corporate plans use telemedicine

Many DIFC firms now include telemedicine GP access in their employee benefits package. Used well, it dramatically reduces sick-day absence by handling minor issues in 15 minutes rather than half a day. We offer dedicated corporate slots that take pressure off the open booking calendar, and reporting for HR on utilisation (anonymised — never individual data).

When telemedicine should escalate

Any chest pain, abdominal pain that isn't clearly minor, neurological symptoms, severe shortness of breath, pregnancy-related concerns past the first trimester, and most paediatric presentations under 6 months. The video call is the triage; the in-person review is the diagnosis. We arrange same-day escalation when needed.

Frequently asked

Is a video consult sick note valid for UAE employers?

Yes, when issued by a DHA-licensed doctor after a documented consultation. We follow MOHAP and DHA telemedicine rules.

Can a video GP prescribe controlled medication?

No. Controlled drugs require in-person review. Standard prescriptions are issued electronically.

How fast can I get a video consult during DIFC working hours?

Median time-to-call during 9am–6pm weekdays is under 15 minutes.

Will my insurance cover a telemedicine consult?

Most UAE plans now cover telemedicine on parity with in-clinic consultations. We confirm coverage before billing.

Can you prescribe medications via telemedicine?

Yes — for most non-controlled medications. Controlled substances require an in-person review under DHA rules.
