How to Choose an IV Therapy Provider in Dubai

An infusion goes straight into your bloodstream. The provider you choose should be screening you for it, not selling it from a menu.

Written and medically reviewed by Dr. Shahbaz Afzal, MBBS, MRCGP — GMC-registered British-trained GP · Published 13 August 2026 · Updated 13 August 2026

A drip is a medical treatment, not a menu item

Anything given intravenously bypasses every protective barrier your body has. That is why a doctor should review your kidney function, cardiac history, allergies and current medications before an infusion is approved — not after you have chosen one from a list of names.

What to verify

1. A named doctor screens and prescribes the infusion before a nurse is dispatched.

2. The nurse holds an individual DHA practitioner licence and stays with you for the full infusion.

3. Anaphylaxis medication is carried to every visit, and the nurse is trained to use it.

4. Vitamin, iron and B12 infusions are supported by recent blood results rather than assumption.

5. Batch numbers, volumes and observations are documented into a medical record a doctor reads.

The honesty test

Ask: 'Is there any situation where you would tell me not to have this drip?' A doctor-led clinic will describe several. A retail model rarely will.

At Aafiyah, a GP screens every infusion request and declines the ones that are not clinically appropriate — including when oral treatment would work just as well.

Frequently asked

Do I need blood tests before an IV vitamin drip?

For a genuine vitamin, iron or B12 deficiency, yes — treating without testing means you cannot know whether the infusion helped. Simple rehydration does not require prior bloods.

Is IV therapy at home as safe as in a clinic?

It is, provided a doctor has screened you, the nurse is DHA-licensed, monitoring runs throughout and anaphylaxis cover is on site. Those conditions — not the location — decide safety.

How much does IV therapy at home cost in Dubai?

At Aafiyah, IV therapy at home starts from AED 550, including GP screening, the nurse visit, consumables and observation, with the prescribed infusion quoted before you book.

Can IV drips treat a hangover or fatigue?

Fluids can relieve dehydration symptoms, but persistent fatigue deserves investigation rather than a repeat drip. We would rather test you than infuse you monthly.

"IV drip and blood tests at home on Palm Jumeirah. Nurse was punctual and gentle, doctor called with results the same afternoon with a proper written interpretation. This is how private healthcare should feel."
