Both models look identical at the door
A clinician arrives at your apartment within an hour, examines the patient, treats the immediate problem and leaves. Judged on that hour alone, the two models are hard to tell apart — which is precisely why families choose on price and speed.
The difference is structural, and it shows up on the second visit, not the first.
What differs: governance
In a doctor-led clinic model, the visiting clinician is employed by a named DHA-licensed facility with a medical director accountable for their practice. Prescribing, escalation and follow-up sit inside that clinic's governance.
In a marketplace model, the platform is a booking layer. Clinical accountability is distributed across partner providers you did not choose and cannot easily identify afterwards.
What differs: the record
A clinic-based visit is written into the same record as your previous consultations, blood results and prescriptions. The GP who sees you next month can read what happened at 2am last Tuesday.
App-dispatched visits typically generate a standalone note held by the partner provider. Three visits over a year can mean three records in three systems, none of which show a pattern — which is how a recurring symptom gets treated three times and diagnosed zero times.
What differs: continuity
Continuity is not a comfort feature. It is the mechanism by which a clinician notices that this is the third chest infection in six months, that the blood pressure has been creeping, or that a child's fever pattern has changed.
Marketplace dispatch is optimised for the opposite: the fastest available clinician, every time. That is the right optimisation for a one-off tourist illness and the wrong one for a family, an elderly parent or any chronic condition.
When each model is appropriate
A one-off, self-limiting problem far from your usual clinician — an app dispatch is a reasonable choice.
Anything recurring, anyone elderly, any child with a pattern, any chronic condition, any post-operative recovery, and anything where the follow-up matters as much as the visit — a doctor-led provider with one record and one named GP.

Are app-dispatched doctors in Dubai licensed?
The individual clinicians are DHA-licensed. The difference is not licensing but governance, continuity and records — who is accountable for your care after the clinician leaves.
Is a doctor-led home visit more expensive?
Not necessarily. Aafiyah home doctor visits start from AED 500 with travel within central Dubai included. What differs is that the visit is part of an ongoing record rather than a one-off transaction.
Can I keep the same doctor for home visits?
Yes. Patients are assigned a named GP, and home visits are scheduled with that GP wherever rostering allows. Out of hours, the attending doctor writes into the same record your GP reads the next morning.
What if I need a nurse or IV after the doctor visit?
It is arranged from the same clinic on the same care plan — the nurse who attends is working to the order your doctor wrote, not to a fresh booking in a different system.
